God HATES Red Lipstick?
I had the pleasure of talking to a beautiful SOS Best Wife in Christ about her upbringing in the church. She informed me that it was "very strict!"
She went on to say, "no pants, no worldly music..." then I jumped in and said, "and no red lipsticks, like mine either, huh?" She said, "Nope, sis, NO RED LIPSTICK!" We both looked at each other and laughed at that.
After talking with my dear Best Wife about red lipstick and the strict rules she experienced in church the Holy Spirit placed these two scriptures on my heart...
- “Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride; milk and honey are under your tongue...” Song of Solomon 4:11
- “For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil." Proverbs 5:3
What’s the difference between these two scriptures?
CONTEXT!!!
One woman’s lips of honey are represented by an adulterous woman. The other woman’s lips of honey are represented by a wife whose husband is adorning her.
Whew, child, people love to say they hate religion, but religion has never been the problem...it's bad doctrine! God's truth has been something I have searched for since I got saved on 9/11/2001 (it's not an easy day to forget). I remember saying to myself when I got saved, "I am not going to church on Sundays that's when all the hypocrites go." But I wanted to go to church on Wednesdays...why? Because that's when I knew most Bible Studies were. (Psssst, I attend church on Sundays now. As you grow more mature in your walk with Christ you realize that the church becomes more imperfect when you join, lol.)
All I ever wanted to do was study the Word of God. That thirst early in my walk led me to take seminary classes, there I fell in love with Theology. And just this December 2021, I’m super excited to announce that I became certified through Dr. Juli Slattery's, Authentic Intimacy: Sexual Discipleship Program. I have always been interested in the mind of God. Where else can you find God’s thoughts but in His Word?

But back to this red lipstick. I love me a red lip y'all. I don’t mind being prejudged. I mean, I sell lingerie and wear red lipstick I'm a glutton for stereotypes, lol. But please take into consideration my context.
